The ‘Flow’ state…and using corporate meditation to tap into it.

You get good at what you practice.

And what you practice, impacts the way your brain changes and adapts.

Being aware (mindful), helps you identify what you're practicing at any point in time. You notice more. Without awareness, it's easy to get lost in a whirlwind.

It is evident that we are more distracted than ever! Are you?

It's not your fault.

Technology companies want your attention. And they know how to get it.

Consider the amount of bings, dings and vibrations you experience on a daily basis. For many it's 100's of notifications, every day! And that's just from your phone.

Information is thrust at us and our brains can't cope with the constant onslaught.

More information isn't better.

Our brains don't become smarter when too stimulated and overloaded with information.

Our brains actually need to work harder...to process all of it.

Simply put - we are drowning in information. It's like taking a sip of water out of a fire hose.

Flow states (not overflow).

The flow state is the experience of being so absorbed by an engaging, enjoyable task that your attention is completely held by it.

It can only be reached with mono-tasking...with single pointed attention.

You generally lose sense of time, self-consciousness, and anything that doesn't have to do with the task at hand.

In flow, you feel as if you could keep doing whatever you're doing, forever.

A constant flow.

Note that you already have a constant flow. This flow happens all of your life.

It's your breath of course! In order to stop it, you need to make an effort.

And this is another reason to keep 25% of your open attention (awareness), as you go throughout your day, on your breathing.

Not only is it a wonderful gauge of your state (at any point), it helps you to stay grounded in the present...and you begin to tap into the experience of flow.

Experience ways your team could experience flow with the training of corporate meditation.

Warm regards and be Happy!
