As you'll have encountered...it's not always easy. Starting with a solid foundation of your 'why', really helps. Not only to get you started, but for continuity also (the key to success).
Coming to practice.
Most of our waking ours are spent focusing outwards. Formal practice is precious time to tune your attention inwards...to your inner world.
Practicing corporate meditation at work is an opportunity to develop a better understanding of yourself; and how you are amidst the pressures, busyness and distractions of life.
Your whole system quietens down.
Thinking subsides, muscles relax, body temperature drops. Often, there's a sense of recharge. A brain break. And we all need these...and regularly.
Sitting in stillness and silence, is a chance to settle down, develop stability, focus and to relax...all whilst remaining alert.
Note: It's not about making things happen (eg. reduce thinking). Instead, cultivate the conditions, to allow the things (you want) to happen.
Patiently and persistently, you are bound to be successful.
As with any skill, it takes repetition.
It's not always easy. But it's worth it.
