Over-stimulation…and how corporate meditation helps.

Many leaders are incorporating workplace meditation as 'skills training' to deal with the deluge of information their employees face.

The above picture is from a NAB conference. They kicked-off their event with stillness. When 500+ people meditate together, in silence, a big shift occurs.

Overstimulation is a growing issue.

It's a big part of why there's so much fatigue and burnout happening.

Minds become fast...and fast minds are dangerous.

Simply put - our brains cannot handle the constant onslaught of information coming our way.

None of us are exempt from this.

Attention spans are shrinking.

Everyone can focus. Staying focused is another thing.

It requires the ability to suppress the things going on around you.

Your phone is a perfect example - what do the bings, tings or vibrations do to your mind?

Apart from distracting it, it triggers stimulation through dopamine levels enticing you to check the notification...and right away - ha!

'What's new?', 'Who could it be?' or 'What's happening?'...I better look now.

Jumping focus...all the time.

We all know multi-tasking is a myth - don't we?

It's where our attention jumps from one thing - to another - and back again, etc. Like clicking back & forth on tabs on your laptop. Yet, you're focused on 1 tab at a time.

How many tabs are open on your screen?

This mental jumping around all the time, is a drain on your precious energy, and puts your brain into overload.
